- Description
Gluvit Epoxy Waterproof Sealer is a flexible, two-part marine epoxy made to seal leaks, rivets, and seams on aluminum, fiberglass, and wooden boats. It flexes with hull movement instead of cracking like rigid epoxies.
Key Uses and Benefits
- Aluminum Boats: Seals leaky rivets, seams, and minor joint splits, and acts as a barrier coat against galvanic corrosion.
- Fiberglass and Wood: Penetrates hairline cracks, stops water absorption, and prevents fiberglass blistering.
- Flexibility: Cures into a tough, impact- and abrasion-resistant shield that moves with the boat hull.
- Working Time: Offers a 60-to-90-minute pot life, letting the thin mixture seep deep into gaps before hardening.
Application Tips
- Surface Prep: Clean the area with a solvent or detergent, then sand with 80-to-100 grit sandpaper for grip.
- Mixing: Combine the base and catalyst properly (typically a 5-to-1 ratio).
- UV Protection: Gluvit is not UV-stable on its own. You must topcoat it with marine paint if exposed to sunlight
