  • Description
Lat 26° Carbon Guard

is a marine-grade polymer sealant designed to protect and extend the lifespan of various surfaces on boats and yachts. It creates a high-gloss finish that repels water and dirt, making maintenance easier. The product can also be used in automotive applications.

Key features and protection

  • Seals and protects surfaces: Forms a durable, protective barrier on paint, gelcoat, metal, glass, vinyl seats, rubber, and hard plastic.
  • Fights black streaks and exhaust: Specially formulated to protect against engine exhaust and black streaks, especially on white finishes.
  • Guards against environmental damage: Provides a shield against industrial residue, acid rain, and harmful UV radiation.
  • Easy application: The sealant has a straightforward wipe-on, wipe-off formula and can be applied with a foam applicator or microfiber cloth.
  • Enhances finish: After application, it creates a durable, high-gloss finish that adds shine and repels dirt.
  • Hydrophobic properties: Provides excellent water-beading action on treated surfaces, including glass.

Application and best practices

  • Surface preparation: For best results, apply   to a clean, polished, and dry surface. For especially dirty areas, Lat 26° suggests first using their All-Purpose Clean product.
  • Applying the sealant: Apply a small amount of the product to a foam applicator or microfiber towel. Wipe until the surface is thoroughly covered, then wipe off any excess with a clean microfiber towel. For larger areas, it can also be applied with a random orbital buffer and a soft foam pad.
  • Curing time: Allow the product to cure for 12 to 24 hours. While the surface can get wet after about an hour, waiting at least 6 hours is recommended before getting it wet.
  • Maintenance: For quick touch-ups and maintenance, you can use a detail spray, such as
    Lat 26° Detail Spray
    .
  • For darker finishes: While Carbon Guard is recommended for white paint, Lat 26° advises using their UV Heat Guard product for darker colors.
