Epifanes Wood Finish Gloss is a premium, one-component varnish alternative formulated with phenolic-modified alkyd resins and tung oil, designed specifically to deliver an ultra-high gloss finish on marine and household woods. Its defining feature is its microscopic porosity, which makes it exceptionally well-suited for oily tropical hardwoods like teak and iroko because it allows the wood to breathe while offering superior adhesion. Crucially, it saves significant labor by allowing you to re-coat without sanding, provided the next coat is applied within a 72-hour window.

Key Performance & Application Specs

• Finish & Color: Dries to a clear, warm amber color with an ultra-high gloss sheen that matches the look of traditional high-gloss varnishes.
• No-Sand Window: 72 hours. If you wait longer than 72 hours between coats, you must lightly scuff-sand the surface before applying the next layer.
• Drying Times: Dries to the touch in 12 hours and is safe to re-coat in 24 hours at 65°F (18°C).
• Coverage & Build: High-build capability; recommended to apply no more than 5 coats for an optimal protective build above the waterline.
• Thinning: Can be thinned down using Epifanes Brush Thinner or Spray Thinner depending on application preference.
