Epifanes, Rapidclear, 750ml, RCC750

Epifanes Rapid Clear is a premium, one-component clear wood finish formulated with modified alkyd/urethane resins. It is highly regarded as a fast, low-maintenance alternative to traditional marine varnish, specifically engineered to allow multiple buildup coats without requiring sanding between applications. It provides exceptional UV protection, flexibility, and water resistance for both interior and exterior woods above the waterline.

Key Specifications & Application

• The Sanding Advantage: You can apply up to 3 coats in an 18-hour window without sanding between coats (if recoated within 72 hours). This drastically reduces the labor time required for project completion.
• Dry & Recoat Times: It dries to the touch in approximately 4 hours and can be safely recoated in 5 to 6 hours at 65°F (18°C).
• Oily Wood Adhesion: It is highly compatible with notoriously difficult, oily woods like teak and mahogany, preventing natural wood discoloration while accentuating the wood grain.
• Application Methods: Best applied using a high-quality, long-haired soft brush or conventional air spray. Rolling is generally discouraged unless tipped off immediately, as it is difficult to achieve the required wet film thickness.
• Coverage Requirements: A full stand-alone protective system requires roughly 4 to 5 coats under normal conditions. It can also serve as a quick-drying primer/buildup base before applying a final high-gloss traditional varnish.
